Animals have always had a place in my heart, and growing up I was often told I was likely to end up working with them in some capacity.

After completing my Bachelors in Animal Biology from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops BC, I moved to Port Moody BC and in 2010 got a job at a Grooming shop. Starting off as the receptionist I spent about two  years apprenticing  under 3 wonderful groomers until I was final able to call myself one.

After 9 years in Port Moody, in 2019 my husband and I moved to Northern BC where not only did I continue my grooming journey, but I also applied and was accepted into the Karen Pryor Dog Professional Course becoming a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) and starting Northern Noses.

 

After 2 years up north, in the summer of 2021 I completed my circle ending back in Kamloops and not only continuing my training under Northern Noses but grooming as well.

Early January 2024 I started my journey to become a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) through the National Association of Canine Nose Work  and as of June 2024 got enough requirements, and jumped through all the educational hoops to become a fully fledged CNWI.

I started Northern Noses because I believe that owning a dog is an amazing and rewarding experience, but also a responsibility. Through training and grooming my own dogs I feel like I have a greater understanding of them, and I firmly believe in the owner-dog relationship being one of mutual understanding and respect.

​

My goal is to help you give your pups the most fulfilled life so that they can become happy and well-mannered members of the family through the use of only positive, R+, and  force free methods.
